Facilitator: Penny Tremblay | Workplace Relationships Expert & Founder of The Sandbox System™

Dates: Wednesday July 22, 2026 | 1:00pm-4:00pm

This three-hour virtual training equips managers and supervisors with practical strategies to strengthen trust, improve communication, and lead confidently through workplace challenges. Using Penny Tremblay's PLAY NICE framework (Position, Lighten, Actively Listen, Yield), participants will learn how to navigate difficult conversations, set healthy boundaries, delegate with trust, manage accountability, and respond effectively to change. Through interactive discussion, real-world scenarios, and practical reflection, participants will leave with actionable tools to build more respectful, psychologically safe, and high-performing teams.

 Learning Outcomes:

By the end of this session, participants will be able to:

  1. Explain the concept of the Relationship Dividend and identify where relational “debt” is showing up on their team (e.g., stress, misunderstandings, disengagement).
  2. Apply the PLAY NICE framework to lead themselves in conflict, including naming what they are carrying, listening actively, and reconnecting to their why for this work.
  3. Use Sandboxbased leadership tools to prevent problematic interactions through integrity, authenticity, deeper listening, and collaboration.
  4. Set and maintain clear boundaries with difficult behaviors, using a respectful, structured approach that balances empathy with accountability.
  5. Delegate work in ways that build relationship trust and capacity, including with remote and hybrid team members.
  6. Lead change and accountability conversations that acknowledge pressure while keeping performance expectations visible and fair.
  7. Facilitate basic mediation conversations between staff members using a neutral, interestbased approach that supports repair and followup.

    * Please note this session will not be recorded. Attendees will receive a certificate of completion following their active participation.

Due to high demand, this training is exclusively available on a first come, first serve basis.  Please notify First Work if you are no longer able to attend and will need to send a colleague in your place.

If the registration fills up before you had the chance to register, please still register to be added to the waitlist in the event that seats open up.
